Aardehn sits on the brink of catastrophic demise. Another cycle ending without its prophecy realized. It's magic touched inhabitants enslaved to gold mines, sex houses, or left to eke out an existence in the slimy underworlds of Drahinzi. On the distant horizon sits the Obelisk. World creator, world-destroyer - it has many names. It's arrival signaled life and hope, but as each cycle has proven, it ultimately leaves destruction in its wake. Rising up about its base is the city of Torin, a spreading virus crawling ever higher to the heavens while its tech wealthy overlords war amongst themselves. For Celeste, a girl schooled in ancient techniques, but raised in the shadow of the Obelisk, forces from all sides are closing in. Priests and criminals, governments and rebels, technofites and shapeshifters - all claiming to have her best interests at heart... yet none resonating with the lessons of her missing father. However, in a world of ancient magics and ever invading tech, can anything be what it seems? What entities are gathering to play their hands in this world of conflict? What plans do they have for Celeste and all those she befriends and fights? Created with cross storytelling techniques and combining illustration with prose, comics with diaries, poems with paintings (and much more) Aardehn: The Black Veil is an epic science-fantasy-- an enthralling adventure by a new and ambitious creative team.

Identity crisis? What's that? ---- An earthling's soul was born into an incompatible, human body. Their muscles misbehaved, their skin and body felt like a rigid shell, and their weak constitution left little options for any activities outside of paperwork, books and anything on a screen at home. Then the divine beings tried to correct the mistake and removed the mismatched soul from its unfitting body, slinging it to a distant world with a new body to control. The human flesh-prison replaced with the unlimited options of a shapeshifter, the soul has now a magic-filled world to explore. Grow fur for a mountain hike, grow gills and fins for a deep dive. It's time to catch up on decades worth of missed travels and activities. But who wants to deal with the flesh-craving predators called shapeshifters? Another global purge could start, if the freshly transferred soul shows its abilities too much. ---- The rankings are a mystery to me - especially after this story made it to No. 1 under the shapeshifter tag (and others). Welcome to fantasy amateur hours! This is my first time writing that kind of novel. Hopefully there's a bit of improvement along the way. Feel free to tell me what works or not! Occasionally drowning in irl-work, so chapters will be published semi-regularly, whenever I find some time to write. (Usually updated at least once per week.)
