Nine hundred years in the future, the solar system has been colonised, hosting over one hundred billion souls. Without the technology to travel to the stars, humanity squabbles over resources and land, even across the vast expanse of space.
Among these billions of lives, Jack Bishop prepares to leave Earth as an apprentice crewman, dreaming of exploring the system. Unfortunately, space can be a dangerous place. Political machinations, power struggles, and hard vacuum will force Jack and his friends into a struggle for survival as tensions between the various nations of the solar system begin to boil over.
One part Hornblower, one part The Expanse, this sci-fi epic from astronomer and physics teacher Chris Bagnall will take you on a grand tour of the solar system as seen from the perspective of an aspiring ship's officer.
