She came to a halt.
Without a second glance, she replied, "And I've kept mine for way too long."

They had been classmates, acquaintances, best friends and starcrossed lovers before the spiral went back to the start and ended with Margot's one-sided love.
And whenever Charles needed her, she was there.
A simple snap of his fingers (and a drunk dial) was enough to summon her to follow him to the race in Japan when he asked for her help.
However, when she arrives at the track, Charles can't remember anything of what he had said on the phone in that fateful night after his race win in Australia, and Margot had already tied the rest of her annual, paid leave to his race calender for a whole month.
That is when she finds herself in a new environment, surrounded by strangers, with her crushed hopes to finally have her feelings requited, and the prospect of a month full of an aching heart and the unwanted proximity to a man who had just brushed her off like an obnoxious fly.
