Armed with only a flashlight and a mere vacuum cleaner, and with spooky spirits and a vengeful foe at his back, Luigi must risk his life to find his big bro before it's too late. In Evershade Valley, Professor Elvin Gadd is working on some new inventions with some friendly ghosts. However, King Boo appears and destroys the Dark Moon, causing the ghosts to become hostile and forcing the professor to evacuate from the Gloomy Manor. He then sends, Luigi, who helped him out with ghost catching before, to help him capture ghosts once more. Now equipped with the newly-built Poltergust 5000, including other inventions, the Dark-Light Device and Strobulb.
