Elias Thorne was once the best detective in Seattle, until a "wild animal attack" case went cold and cost him his badge. Now a private investigator taking pictures of cheating spouses, Elias receives a cryptic letter from his estranged father in Silver Creek, a dying mining town deep in the Cascades.

The letter contains two things: a plea for help, and a photo of a claw mark that Elias hasn't seen since the night his brother died twenty years ago.

Returning to the town he swore to leave behind, Elias finds his father missing and a fresh corpse in the woods. But the locals-including his childhood sweetheart, now the Sheriff-are closing ranks. As the moon waxes, Elias discovers that the town's founding families share a blood pact that is centuries old, and the "beast" stalking the mountains isn't just an animal. It's a legacy.

And Elias might be next in line.

"Ensure they cannot touch what belongs to me again," he commanded, his voice firm and authoritative. His beta nodded, taking a step back and bowing his head. "Yes, Alpha King." The gravity of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks - they were talking about my friends. A wave of panic washed over me as I realized my little drama to piss him off had put them in danger. Now, I had to act fast to prevent disaster. I couldn't let my recklessness hurt the people I care about. I tugged on Alarico's coat sleeve, and he turned to face me. Our eyes locked, and for the first time, I felt genuine fear. My voice barely above a whisper, I said, "Noooo." Alarico's gaze narrowed, and he raised an eyebrow, as if granting me permission to speak. I swallowed hard and tried to find my voice. "D-Don't hurt them." My words were laced with desperation, and Alarico's expression softened slightly. He tilted my face toward his beta and said, "Order them." I hesitated, unsure of what he meant. Was he testing me? But Alarico's gaze remained steady, his voice low and commanding. "Say it," he urged. With tears welling up in my eyes, I spoke, my voice shaking with rage and fear. "I, Mario Cassano, order you to revoke your alpha's previous order and not to lay a finger on my friends." The words felt like acid on my tongue, but I knew I had to protect my friends. As I finished speaking, Alarico's men dropped to their knees, their heads bowed in unison. I stumbled backward, startled by their sudden action. "Your wish is our command, Queen Luna," they chanted in perfect harmony. The title "Queen Luna" sent shivers down my spine. What did it mean? And why did Alarico's men respond to me with such reverence? I looked up at Alarico, searching for answers, but his expression remained enigmatic.

18+ Read at your own discretion! He's so close, I can feel the weight of his hatred pressing into my skin. "I wouldn't stop. Not until you couldn't take me any longer." His gaze doesn't fall to my body. Instead pins me, as effectively as his hands would. "I would deny you, make you cry, all while you begged for more. Do you understand?" "I do," I whisper, pressing my back harder into the wall. His eyes shutter, his control slipping. "So please, for the love of the goddess, walk away from me. Free me from this torment." **** Aesira is the Alpha's gift, given to him as a gesture of political good faith. However, there is more to her presence in her enemy Alpha's pack. Touted as a gift, she is actually a weapon, tasked with obtaining the Alpha's mark. Once he marks her, he dies. But once Aesira arrives, she realises her task is more difficult to complete than she thought. While he takes her as his wife, he will only mark one female - his mate, his true love. Even worse, she realises the Alpha isn't the monster her father depicted him to be. He's strong, beautiful and Aesira begins to wonder if she finish her task, and obtain his mark once and for all. She's made friends, overcome her enemies and there seems to be more to their bond than simple attraction.
