Virgil and Roman's friendship had been complicated since the beginning, assumptions and prejudice having ruled over their relationship all the way into high school. But when Virgil's family moves out of state, the theater-obsessed teen becomes determined to prove to Virgil, and himself, that he's more than just a villain to him.

Virgil has the next couple years of his life planned out: he'll graduate from high school and study Graphic Design in college. His roommate will be his best friend, Roman. At the end of college, he'll move into an apartment, get a boyfriend and start his life. But as he gets caught up in how he really wouldn't mind that boyfriend to be Roman, his high school throws a three-day school trip at him and his friends. He gets placed in a cabin with not only Roman, but his two other friends Patton and Logan. The four of them are also in an activity group together, which means that the four of them will be around each other for most, if not all, of the 72-hour period. So, here Virgil is. Stuck far away from home in a cabin with his crush. For three. Whole. Days. When Roman gets a penpal for his college English Lit class, he isn't all too happy about who he's gotten. His penpal is mysterious, angsty, and he doesn't seem all that friendly, but he is determined to get passed that tough exterior. But it doesn't help that he refuses to tell Roman his name. Virgil wasn't all too surprised about a random letter showing up at his house. He was already made aware of the penpal assignment that Mr. Sanders was doing for his English class and got his permission to give him to one of his student who he believed they would "make a great pair".
