This is an expansion of the backstory of my steampunk automaton OC, Sinewave Londinium.

This story tells of the existential journey of Sinewave Londinium, an automaton who didn't even start out as such, but who ended up transcending more than just the technical limitations expected of her.

Awesome cover by @ItzOffixial ! Thank you so much for the beautiful cover :D

Electronic Death Music (EDM: Harmonic Wasteland) by CharlesDillinger1
1 part Complete
The world was in shambles. Natural resources were scarce. Poverty, unemployment, and disease are rampant throughout the world. It is affected by the ubiquity of the technological scourge. All manual labor is performed by incessant iron muscles. Technology is the only source of employment and economic wellbeing for the modern world. Artificial intelligence is well developed, leading to the prevalence of automatons within our communities. These automatons have replaced their human counterparts not only within the manual labor market but also within careers requiring technical knowledge. Even skills that required the inventiveness and innovation of the human mind are replaced by the unrelenting efficiency of artificial intelligence. The over-supply of metallic citizens and the stagnant state of global economy made humans to ignore the arts. A dearth of trees due to over-pollution caused a scarcity of many musical instruments like pianos, guitars, flutes, and harps. The automatons have perfected only the soothing of the cerebral cortex with zirkanium levers and buttons. Their brand of music appeals to the areas in the brain associated with primitive instincts and pleasure. There is nothing intellectual about the automaton's melodic creation because it lacks the necessary human element. Homo sapiens are not perfect but they do create imperfectly. No music exists in this world, only Electronic Death Music.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. | 𝟳𝘅 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 ·|| HUNGER GAMES x CINDER || ONC 2023 Honorable Mention Amidst the escalating unrest between the windborne utopian city of Lighthaven and its seedy, oppressed underbelly Fumedge, the Grand Duke of Lighthaven, Lucius Sextus, comes up with an ingenious solution. To provide much-wanted respite from the brewing conflict, and achieve the apparent-if-temporary unity, he organizes Gaslight Trials - a highly entertaining panem-et-circenses combat event in the Pits. The combatants may use all steam and thaumaturgy powered augmentations at their disposal, and there is only one rule: defeat, or be defeated. The reward for the last one standing? A chance to start their life anew. A brass key to the city of Lighthaven with a luxurious mansion to call their own within, as well as an aeroship to command. When eighteen-year-old Veda Igglesden steps forward to take her timeworn adoptive father's place in the fight, she might as well be signing her death-sentence. With her eyes fully set on the prize, act-first-think-later Veda must harness the power of technology to try and win for her Papa Otto. Decades of breathing in the toxic air of Fumedge did a number on the old inventor's lungs, and being able to live in the air-filtered Lighthaven would sure come in handy right about now. A high-flying adventure full of gadgetry and intrigue; a pleasing blend of steampunk and postapocalyptic. See Veda unravel the mysterious ploy behind the game's organization, and uncover the truth about her secret origins. Can she cope both with the trials of physical and intellectual prowess, as well as with the trials of life itself: those of love, loss and regret? © 2023 EvelynHail Exclusively on Wattpad Based on prompt 49!
