In this world, there are two sides. The Known, and The Unknown. The Known, being what everyone in society knows, the basics of the rights and wrongs, the things that people aren't afraid of embracing. The Unknown, being the dark, twisted underworld of society, the darkness hiding behind every town, and their variety of historic buildings, the gritty details no one has the stomach to think about, or even cast a second glance to.

Until the day that Amy gets hooked on this dark knowledge, the want to learn of these gritty details, the very underbelly of her town... she knows it lies on a dark past. And she isn't alone in discovering just what this dark, disgusting past is. Hooking her friends into it, will they escape the town, able to recall to one another and the public, just what she discovered in the heart of tourism? Or will they get sucked in too deep, and lose to themselves?

Lauren Jules, her twin sister Miranda, and their best friend Jake all grew up together in their own little world. Just three kids having the time of their lives. And then came the summer that changed everything. It was the summer Lauren fell in love with her best friend. It was the summer her family broke apart and she grew up. It was the summer Jake left. Now five years later, Jake is moving back and Lauren is determined to keep her guard up against the boy who stole her heart years ago. But Lauren's not the only one with something to hide, Jake seems to be fighting some demons of his own. His past has changed him from the happy-go-lucky kid he was, to a reckless guy with a smirk for a smile. And he's driving Lauren insane. ****** Excerpt from That Summer "Well I'm surprised," he drawled huskily, playing with a strand of my hair. "You acted like a natural last night." Oh. My. God. What did that even mean? He chuckled at my deer-in-headlights expression. There was no way I would not remember losing my virginity to Jake. Hell, I'd memorize every second of it. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly, my stomach doing somersaults. Please tell me I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. Pretty please. "Well," he started, a gleam in his eyes. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad. And the prize for the unluckiest luckiest horndog of the year goes to Lauren Can't Keep Her Hands To Herself Jules. I grabbed the pillow and smacked him over the head with it. Hard.

The Quiet Ones

33 parts Complete

"Don't go outside after dark." This was a well-established rule in the whole community. After dark, groups of rebels emerged onto the streets of town and vandalized everything in their sight. Parker Reynolds knew this, she knew this rule almost too well. It's one that was embedded into her mind since the age of three. Although joining a group can mean getting arrested, being charged with multiple accounts of vandalism, and left with paying fines until the age of a hundred, it's also a risk some are willing to take. Parker's not one to live on the wild side, but she's at the point where she'll do anything if it means giving her a more popular social status. Besides, who would want to have the same title of uptight, or afraid-to-take-chances for the past eleven years? But what happens when Parker becomes too committed to the group, and finds herself stuck in a situation that's much too hard to get out of? Or at least, get out of without consequences?
