After years of traveling the world with her Egyptologist mom, all seventeen-year-old Aziza Harper wants is to go back to Boston and the home they left five years ago. To please her mom she enrolls in a pre-college summer program in Cairo, the city of her maternal ancestors, with the goal of completing it and her senior year then going stateside for college where she can finally live the life she wants.
But when Aziza’s nearly killed by a classmate who sprouts a lion’s head and turns into the ruthless Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet, achieving her goal won’t be as easy as she thought. Then her grandma disappears and she escapes death (again), with the aid of a group of teenagers who are descendants of Egyptian deities. They claim Aziza’s the rightful heir out of a long line of descendants of the Egyptian Goddess Isis, the one who has the power to defeat the malevolent god Set who wants to rule their world as revenge on his fellow Egyptians gods who forsook him long ago.
Aided by the ragtag group of teens, in particular Mari, their wise and beautiful leader, it’s up to Aziza to find her missing grandma, defeat Set and his minions, and uncover the truth about her heritage and her powers, before it’s too late. If she fails, not only will she lose her life but she’ll lose the lives of her companions…the only friends she has ever had.
BLOOD OF ISIS is a story about having faith in oneself and the lengths one will go to for friendship, family, and first love. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it?
