A lost maiden, a castle in the woods and a reclusive Lord. Tragedy has stolen everything Gilbert ever loved. A devastating fire stole away his wife and child and left its mark on him, staining his skin and damaging his voice. He can never forgive himself for not rescuing the most important people in his life. Now he lives in self-imposed isolation, eking out a living by bartering his skills as a woodworker. Until this strange woman comes banging at his door. Now he has a chance to redeem himself, even if only in his own eyes by rescuing a damsel in distress. If she will allow him.
Beatrice has been living a half-life ever since her parents died. She doesn't mind being relegated to nanny, nurse and governess to her sweet nieces and nephews but now her sister-in-law is trying to marry her off. One night, mad with fever, she runs off into the forest to escape and suddenly finds herself trapped in a castle with an intriguing stranger. He never utters a word and yet she finds him intriguing.

This story is a work of fiction. It is set in a fictitious version of the 19th Century. It is not historically acurate.

[A VERY Slow Burn, Coming-Of-Age, Reimagined Fairy Tale Romance] A Beast falls in love with a Beauty, but it's much more complicated than that. It's a tale as old as time, but it's definitely not your mother's "Beauty &the Beast". ~ Aiden Whitebell is many things - son of a governor, clever, a smooth talker - but first and foremost, he is hated by everyone at his prestigious boarding school. His sudden disappearance raises flags, but his parents insist that their son will come home when he is ready. They don't know that Aiden can't, watching the news unfold behind the walls of the Raychester Citadel Sanitarium on the other side of the ocean, his cursed stay indefinite. He closes himself off while his kidnappers watch, bemused. Lillian Prescott is many things - daughter of a merchant, smart, yearning for more - but is not sick despite what her family physician says. Living in the war-worn city of Antham presents its own issues, but falling ill with a potentially deadly and contagious disease is not one of them for her. Regardless, her family sends her to the Raychester Citadel Sanitarium to be treated for two months. She has two months of solitude, emptiness, and time to spare. A chance meeting in the library is where this story truly starts. ~ This will be purely an experiment in writing for as long as I live. I failed tremendously and I love it. ~ All rights reserved. To: The Storyteller From: Maeve "Evie" Stone Dear Storyteller, I never imagined my life would change so completely when I accepted the restoration project at Ashwood Manor. Do you remember the article about it? The haunted house with the enigmatic billionaire owner? Well, let me tell you the whispers didn't even scratch the surface. The manor itself is alive. I know how that sounds, but every creaking floorboard and flickering candle seemed to echo secrets, some about him, the brooding man who owns the place, and some about me. It started with a series of strange dreams. Labyrinths. Mirrors. A shadow I couldn't escape. And oh, when I met him at first, I didn't trust him. I wasn't sure I trusted myself around him, either. But as we uncovered the manor's past together, the walls between us and within ourselves began to crumble. This isn't just a story about a haunted house, though it has plenty of that. It's about confronting fears...my fear of commitment, of loving and being loved, and his fear of forgiveness. Together, we unraveled the labyrinth that held Ashwood in its grip, freed the ghosts of the past, and built something entirely new. I wish you could visit. He and I are planning an exhibit to share the journals and artifacts we discovered. It's our way of honoring those who came before us and making peace with the past. I thought I was going to Ashwood to rebuild walls. Instead, I rebuilt myself. Hoping you come visit soon. You won't believe it until you see it. With love, Evie

Set in post-apocalyptic America, a witch orphaned from her deceased family seeks refuge at a whorehouse in order to escape starvation. ***** Ivy Tate has her whole life ahead of her but nothing to live for. The earth has been spewing its guts for years and her clan didn't survive it. The only upside? She's a witch. But contrary to popular opinion, magic can't always save lives. With the threat of a slow, hungry death hanging over her head, she falls into strange company; a band of misfits who have found their own way to survive. Ivy is offered clean clothes, a real bed, and food that doesn't run away. But she quickly realizes the price for luxuries is high, like sell-your-soul high, and she must decide if survival is worth the trade. BLOOMER [Book 1] is an off-the-beaten path tale about a young woman coming of age in a world that is falling apart. Mixing magical realism with speculative fiction and spicing it up with romance, BLOOMER will appeal to readers who like to root for unlikely heroes as they earn their stripes.
