Cait Serbus is abandoned at birth when it is believed that she possesses no magical core. When this happens, she is labeled as a Muggle, given a false name and identity, and put into the American foster system. When her magical abilities manifest, Igor Karkaroff finds her and comes to her aide, letting her know that she is not as alone in the world as she thought. However, dark forces will attempt to tear her away from the family she has built and come to love, and, when push comes to shove, Cait will have to risk everything she holds dear to survive.
