Remus Lupin is blind. He used to be able to see, but after he was knifed in an alleyway at age 7 because his father was caught up in gang business, his eyes were destroyed. He knows how to live, how to get around London effectively, but he's been treated differently, as if he's an invalid. He just wants to be seen as a normal human being, but no one apart from his best friends can see him this way. Until Sirius comes along. A wolfstar AU (no-magic) {a relatively short story} The 1970s, a wonderful time of bold makeup, bell-bottom jeans, vinyl shops, police brutality and rampant homophobia. You get the gist. In which, Remus Lupin is a fresh-faced wallflower just out of college, supporting his community in miniature efforts, as to not get noticed. Sirius Black, maybe not as fresh-faced but still just out of college, is, let's say, a little bolder. He's happy to be noticed - even happier when it's the freckled boy that hides in the library. Disclaimer: my parents weren't even a twinkle in someone's eyes in the 70s. Historical accuracy isn't going to be my focus point; but I'll try my best.
