「 Wake Up, Alice 」

I could feel her breath on my face as she gazed softly down at me, both of us in a comfortable silence. Since when was she so close? I didn't really care. She was like a magnet to me; I wanted nothing more than to lean up and make probably the biggest mistake of my life. I raised my hand instead, tracing the line of her defined jaw with feature-like touches, my stomach exploding with butterflies as a soft smile graced her lips. Her hand found its way on top of mine, closing around it in a firm yet gentle hold as I caressed her face. Nothing could spoil this moment. At least...that's what I thought. She leaned down to me, my heart working overtime as she got closer and closer. Our noses brushed against each other, our lips inches away. I closed my eyes, waiting. My eyelids involuntarily opened as her arms wound around my torso, her head nuzzled into the side of my neck. Her next sentence stunned me, the same words that have been haunting me wherever I go.

"Wake Up, Alice."
