sherman texts the wrong number. he awkwardly apologizes to 'stranger', and that's it. they leave it at that. sherman's never going to think about this mishap again.
cut to a few weeks later, he's drunk and sobbing into his pillow after his girlfriend, miranda, broke up with him over text.
after his meltdown ends, he ends up going onto his phone. he meant to text his little brother, ellis. he accidentally texts 'stranger' again.
everything blossoms from there.

turns out stranger's real name is connor stoll. and he's THE connor stoll. the son of billionaire 'hermes olympia'.
so sherman's been talking to the son of a billionaire for the past few months. for some reason, talking to him doesn't feel any different.
he likes to think he's just talking to a friend. even though he knows that at this point connor is much more than just a friend.
sherman doesn't want to drag connor into his personal hell. he doesn't want to hurt him.
