Sammy Kaplan lives in Carsden at the edge of the Unlived Forest. Aloof and practically emotionless to other people, she starts noticing some odd things happening in Carsden.
Most disconcerting to her is the nature in town. Being a Wiccan and much in tune with the environment, Sammy starts acting a little less unfeeling and wonders why nature is not telling her what's wrong.
