Why me? I was no one, a Dalish mage sent to spy on the shems Conclave. I wasn't fit to lead anyone! Yet, with the breach threatening the world and so much of what happened missing from my memory I had to stay. I had to fight.
A slow burn Cullen/Lavellan Inquisitor fanfic.
Disclaimer: I do not own Dragon Age or it's characters! I am also taking quite a bit of freedom with the story, so things will be a bit different but the overall plot will be the same.

"I don't know what you'll face before the end," Cullen insisted, his face drawing nearer hers until their foreheads were touching. Her hand was palm-up in his, then, the dark leather of his glove and the moonlight's ivory flush making her fingers look impossibly pale. He placed the lucky coin there, closing her fist around it. "Just humour me." ---- Slow burn romance between Cullen and my femme Lavellan, Lyric. The story is mostly made up of moments between characters, skipping some of the action we are familiar with. Spans the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition, base game only. - 18+ only - Disclaimers: - Content/trigger warnings for minor character injury, blood/gore, and sexual content. - This is a a slow burn, but it is a romance nonetheless. *Not* smut; there are also character pieces for my Inquisitor and some others that are not related to the romance, but it's all part of Lyric's story. - There are time jumps, and some slight canon divergence/original elements, but nothing that impacts the integrity of the story in a major way. - I have only played Inquisition and all associated expansions, but not the earlier games. - This is my interpretation of the story- I take some liberties with minor variations and some situations of my own. - My lore is not perfect, but I'm trying! (This story is my first Dragon Age Inquisition story but has undergone revision and a few changes) Talila, a mid-twenties to late twenties year old woman with a kind heart and is a huge fan of the Dragon Age series, though she keeps it under lock and key. She adores the series but when she somehow ends up in Thedas (around the time of the Inquisition) things become complicated when she finds herself falling for one of the members of the Inquisition, after being rescued by them, but unknown to them her time being where she was she experienced Lyrium and the nasty addiction that comes with it was truly in a not so best situation and as a consequence has a hard time letting anyone in, except for one person: Cullen. Cullen knows Talila does not belong to his world, but once it comes to his attention that she struggles with herself and with Lyrium withdrawals, he finds himself all but jumping to her aid; Slowly he develops feelings for her and refuses to give up on her, regardless of what she says or does, but when Talila starts acting odd, combined with bouts of unexplained rage, it swiftly comes to his attention that her family lineage has more secrets then even Talila is aware of.Complete

Rain fell steadily as the room felt empty, Cullen sat alone on the bed he had once shared with the love of his life who had passed away shortly after finally defeating the one who had been the cause of reformation of the Inquisition. In his hands sat a ring he would never be able to give her and her mother's amulet. Closing his amber eyes, his hands closed around both items as his voice sounded in the echoing and empty silence, "Mystia... Why? Why did you have to go? I can't do this on my own, not without you..." His unshed tears finally began to fall as his body with his deepening sadness. "I love you..." Mystia is the Inquisitor of the Inquisition and an ex-Templar of the Templar Order who still takes Lyrium though not really by choice. As time passes, she has many adventures but also begins to fall in love with her Military Advisor, Commander Cullen Stanton Rutherford. When it seems that fate has finally given her something good, it is taken away again when she faces the one who caused her to take the role of Inquisitor in the first place, and after being Corypheus's final downfall, Mystia realizes that all the good she has done cannot save her in her final hours or can it?Complete

Dragon Age: The Surviver
Following a lot of the Dragon Age game series storyline by Bioware but with a twist... A young Dalish girl's clan is slaughtered by Tevinter mages but they take the girl as a slave and burns Lyrium into her skin. (Yes, like a certain angsty porcupine we know.) Before the girl is taken to Tevinter she over powers the mages with her new abilities and is found by a group of Templars. Not knowing what to do with the girl they take her back to the Ferelden Circle of Magi where she later on meets the Grey Warden... She's bi so she'll blush at anyone who flirts with her, like most of Dragon Age characters. Her romance won't happen until Veilguard. I originally started writing this to help get Dragon Age out of my system but it's starting to make my love for it grow stronger and I wish to share it with others. I'm open to any lore corrections. I unfortunately don't have any of the books so some of the lore may be lost to me but I'll try my best with the knowledge I've gained from the games, series and movie.
