Compromise and Consequence (A Naruto OC Fanfiction)
Kira lives a mundane, sheltered mountain life, training in her forbidden possession taijutsu as well as her wind style ninjutsu skills. At the compromise of her own life, Kira searches for a meaning to her life, questioning why gifts like hers are smothered when they should be nurtured. In her search for a reason to live, Kira develops a love for painting, becoming a coping mechanism for her struggles.
All she desires is to break free and use the skills she so persistently hones. But more than anything, she wishes for a reason to live, a reason to fight, a reason to carry on. She lives in a daze, knowing her dreams will never come to pass. But everything changes when Kira is approached by the mysterious Akatsuki, who, after a failed assassination attempt, present her the offer to join their cause: A blonde boy the same age as her with an explosive personality and talents...and a hunchback man who may not be human. After a set of tragedies caused by the arrival of these two cloaked men, Kira recognizes the consequences of living a life of compromise, the damage such a life was doing to her soul, her autonomy, her very right to exist.
As Kira joins this Akatsuki group, she finds that maybe her dreams weren't as impossible as she had originally believed. She draws closer to her fellow artists, the two men who had originally approached her, finding herself forming a bond with the explosive blonde, Deidara. Two artists from completely different worlds -but...drawn to each other, both trying to understand why.
