"Sir, I plan to treat your daughter with the uttermost respect and to always put her feelings before my own. I will never encourage her to go against her or your will. I will support her every step of the way. I love your daughter and it's apparent that you've raised her well. I want to add to her life, not take it away. She is dear to my heart and special to me, and I will always treat her like the queen she is." Chan spoke.

My heart pounded at his words. The fact that he could answer my dad's question with that genuine answer made my heart race. I was already blushing at the face but in a good way. My dad smiled.

"I also would like to add that I will respect all of your rules and I want to build your trust in me. Your daughter and this relationship is important to me and I don't want to mess it all up," he added.

My dad smiled in great approval. "You've done this before, haven't you?" he teased.

Chan laughed. "Surprisingly, I have not. This is my first time," he said.

Chan's sentences made me feel even more special. He has treated me like a queen...but we were not dating. We weren't official, so where were these words coming from? Is this something he's been meaning to say or is he faking it?
