Suddenly, he took a step forward, pinning me to the wall. His face was only inches away from mine. He stared intensely into my eyes, causing my breathing to hitch. I could see a faint sparkle in his perfect, grey eyes.

He brought his mouth next to my ear and whispered: "Kate. There's something I need to confess...", as his hands moved down to my waist. His words sent a shiver down my spine.

I stared expectantly at his face. I couldn't find the right words to say, my thoughts were all jumbled up.

"I... I love you", he finished.

Hold up. What? Did Tyler Davis just tell me he loved me?

"Oh my god!", Tyler exclaimed, bursting into laughter. "You should have seen your face! You thought I was serious!".

"I..um...", I stumbled over my words. "You know what? Fuck you, Tyler. I can always count on you being an asshole", I said, shoving his chest away and stomping out of the science lab.

What the fuck just happened? Why did he just do that? But more importantly, why did I want to believe him? No. It couldn't be. I couldn't be developing feelings for Gilbert High's biggest heartthrob, or as I call him: asshole.

"I think I'm gay." I say, leaving out the part about my... exposing dream about him last night. I watched his expression, waiting for some sign that he was angry. I waited for him to call me a faggot, to curse me off and tell me he never wanted to see me again. Instead, I was greeted with his perfect toothy smile. "That's great man, I'm of proud you." He says, patting my arm as he stuffed another cracker in his mouth. "It takes some real balls to come out to someone." He says, his beautiful green eyes blazing into mine. I felt myself become flustered at his gaze. "Uh, Yeah, Thanks." I stumbled out, "You're not mad?" I ask. His expression turns to hurt as he crinkles his eyebrows. "Why the hell would I be mad?" He asks, hesitating on the crackers and pushing them away. "I just thought-it's just- well... you just always seem so pissed when someone mentions the word gay." I spit out words, scared for his reaction. He sighs, "That doesn't fucking mean I hate gays. Normally when I do that it's because someone's using the word 'gay' to hate on them, it just pisses me off, you know?" He asks, bringing the crackers back into his lap and biting into them. "Plus-" He adds on, "You're my best friend, if anything, you being gay is a blessing. I'll always support you." He says, glancing at me through the side of his eyes. I look away, towards the door to hide the crimson blush that I feel spread over my face. "Thanks." I all but squeak out. And that's the day I realized, I have a faint crush on my best friend. <><><><><< THIS BOOK IS BEING *MAJORLY* EDITED. Meet Isabel. She gets along with most people, not super popular but she's not a wallflower either. Isabel doesn't need anyone else in her life not to protect her and certainly not Derek and his crew. She lives with her brother and father . They share a secret that could land them in jail. She can fight almost anyone and win, this girl kicks a$$. Yet Isabel has a past that features in her nightmares, making her afraid to sleep alone. --- "Hey?" I heard but didn't reply. "Hey!" I still didn't reply. A hand grabbed my arm and I twisted out of it on instinct. There was a glimmer of surprise in his eyes as I faced the last of the Five in the now almost empty hallway. Derek. Almost as tall as Mac. Black hair like the twins with ice cold blueish grey eyes. Same fighters build, six pack and all but not as soft as Mac or as feminine as the twins beauty. He was more rugged. I did understand the appeal of these boys but there were a lot of good looking guys on the swim team too and I did go with Jarred when he had fights. "You know we wouldn't let anyone hurt you right? Even if Jarred isn't around, we'll be here to protect you." I blinked. I blinked again. Nope, he was still standing there with the same serious expression. Derek, the unofficial leader of the Five, the boy every guy would want to be friends with and every girl would love to sleep with, was offering me his protection. I did the only thing that made sense in that situation. I burst out laughing. I was laughing so hard that I doubled over and when I glanced up at him I just cracked up again. He stood through it all without any emotion on his face, there was barely a glimmer of anger in his eyes. If anything I might have seen some surprise. I patted him on the arm and winked. "You. Are. Funny! I don't need you idiots to look out for me. But thanks for the thought." With that I quickly made my way to class.

[COMPLETE] They say weddings are eventful, to say the least. Anything could happen. What I didn't expect however, was him. My mistake. It's been years since we last spoke- he drives me crazy, in ways no one else has. Being back home and reunited with old friends, was about to get messy. ~ "Morning sleeping beauty," He drawled, leaning against the counter mixing his protein shake vigorously. "Well then you must be the beast and not the prince." I retorted, rummaging through the pantry for some granola I could have with greek yoghurt. "Yeah," he shrugged. I put my bowl and ingredients on the table and frowned. Did... he... just agree with me? "In the gym, in the office... and definitely in bed," he winked. Oh. There it was. He's so full of himself. I rolled my eyes, proceeding to make myself breakfast. It's too early for this. ~ Follow along as two individuals encounter each other once again as adults, whilst their teenage histories shadow over them with every step.
