Roselle Blackwood is your "average" teenager. Living in a small town, a mother who works all day, a father who decided to walk out the door, a protective older brother, a major school crush, a good best friend, and the perfect grades. But you see, there's more to Roselle than she leads on. In a small town like Everglades, it's best to lay low and keep quiet. She says she knows what she wants but does she really want those things? Her life is basically planned out, by her mother of course. But what her mother didn't plan out was the sudden twist in her life that turned into a mess.

Things take a sudden turn when she encounters Jaxon de la Cruz. After a couple of messy interactions, her curiosity got the best of her. She wants to know why there's a wall that separates Jaxon and the people around him (including her). It's obvious that he was hiding something from her, from everyone. She knows what it's like to have secrets, so who's to say Jaxon doesn't have them too?

Jaxon very well knows what Roselle is trying to do but he won't allow it. He doesn't let anyone come close to him, hence the facade he puts up at school. Sure he's popular, he's on the soccer team, he's had many girlfriends, but none of them really know him. But why?

That's the question Roselle Blackwood is determined to figure out.
