A mysterious curse is said to take place on the night when a child of a village goes to the landmark to trade with the other village for the first time. Fifteen-year-old Kaneko is chosen by her village leader to journey to the Trading Bridge, bearing a basket of goods. Will the curse of the river demon take place on this night, or is it all just a myth? Will Koneko be swept away by the demon?
