Honey Orenda was your typical snarky, anti-social tenth grader with not very many friends. She was content with her simple life with her one and only faithful companion, Asher. But all that changed when she learned of a secret that lead her to a magical world plagued by a dangerous force. Swamped with confusion and anger, Honey faces many battles within her self and with the new problems that have been presented to her. Through out this novel, Honey must overcome multiple obstacles-with or without her only friend- to save not just the new, magical world, but possibly even the whole universe.

Kara Tilling is your typical teenager-well, more or less. Spending time with her fashionable best friend and her nerdy boyfriend are major parts of her day. Despite never knowing her mother, she manages to live a regular life as an only child with her eccentric father in their small household. Her life changes all at once, however, when a monster kidnaps her friend and disappears. During this chain of events, she meets a handsome fairy boy known as Shade, who's supposed to watch over her. He reveals a whole new world to her that she never knew existed, but when he vanishes, it's up to her to decide what she does next, with a little help from her friends and family. She experiences adventure, romance, and a little magic, and has to learn who to trust while an unknown evil lurks just beyond her reach.
