The poem is inspired by the "Black Dahlia" case, which was a famous murder which took place in 1940s Los Angeles, and has remained unsolved to this very day. My poem was primarily inspired by how the nespaper reporters in Los Angeles during the 1940s tarred the reputation of Elizabeth Short, the murder victim and wrote lies about her which have remained linked to her and the Black dahlia case to this very day.

"I loved you like there was no tomorrow yet you left like yesterday didn't mean a thing" All my life I wished for was a family .A happy home to come to I've had it but it all came crumbling down when my mom took me from my only happiness and she would be the reason the world showed it's dark side at a young age. Fix Me, I'm Broken
Walking into an empty house is normal to me. I guess I got tired of saying 'I'm home' when nobody is home to reply. It wasn't always like this. I remember when our family was close. Now we don't see each other any more. We don't talk to each other. We don't eat with each other. We don't ACKNOWLEDGE each other. This all happened after my 'Mother' killed herself. My father blames me. This is my story about how I learned to not count on anyone else but myself. I'm broken. I'm used. No one can fix me.
