Beatrix Bells moves to a new school in Monmouth after living in London all of her life. When she gets there she finds that her new school isn't as friendly as her old one. She meets a girl and a boy that change her life, but is it for the better or worse?
Megan Johnson was a popular girl in her school. She always got what she wanted. But after her boyfriend makes her pregnant and leaves her behind. The people she once called her friends bully her and her parents ignore her.
Emory Smith is an artistic nonconformist in the shadows. He is bullied constantly and neglected at home for loving men, and just being who he is in the first place.

He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal.
