I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day. Anything can happen when a person is full of anger and guilt, shadowed by their own ego...will you invite them to be your friend? Or fight them like a foe? [2023 NOTE] Have you ever grown up? I had my first experience last month and it was truly disappointing and I would argue life changing -- I no longer see the average grown adult with the same respect as I did before writing this fic. And honestly, my impression of the community prior to writing this fic, fairly intelligent, and they really were a cross section of the general public. But as when I started writing this fic, I was truly astonished at my writing and how impressive my brain power is. And I can sense how that experience has seeped into my psyche and is polluting my ability to trust people, and I have become more suspicious of the true motivations of those around me. I literally cannot tell if I was just naive before and am more realistic now, or if I was realistic before and have become cynical now. This does not define my political views, and who I am today. I really am a changed man.😞
