When I close my eyes, all I see is red. Jackson's room was painted red. He had a red couch and a red duvet that seemed to swallow me whole. He had red sneakers and a red Letterman's jacket that he always wore that was branded with our school logo, a cardinal. His blood was red too. Sometimes, I can still feel it on my hands. * * * Serena Grey knew things would change after her mother's passing, when her father whisked her away from Canada and threw her into the bustling city of New York. But she would never believe how much things would change. In the short span of a few months, she was a key player in her teacher's suicide and a peers death. With her father at his wits end, it's almost a miracle when a group home for troubled teens and the mentally ill offered Serena a spot in their program. With a family curse following her, a disturbed boy's conspiracy and the dark secrets that lay beneath the group home and it's occupants, Serena will be lucky if she can make it out in one piece. Much less if she can save the boy she loves and her new friends.
