The forest is a bewitching, twisting, consuming kind of place. It's where mist floats off pine trees at dawn and shrouds the forest by night, where toadstools are a splash of colour in the dusky gloom and moonlight cuts through branches in great pillars of flowing silver.
But, most importantly, it's where fairies appear with the blink of an eye and turn fate with a curl of their pearl white fingers.
When Little Red becomes lost in the forest, she has no idea what she must face to leave it again. The fairy she stumbles across seems helpful, but what path has she really sent her down? And will she ever find her way out?
The forest is alive, and it's looking for a game. Will you be a player, or a pawn...

I had been content to pretend sleep as Da carried me, but when we got back to the cottage, I was eager to show Mam the shiny pebble a boy had given me after one of the dances. I ran back and forth from the door to the window as I waited. Da laughed at me. "I suppose you could have just carried me home." "There she is!" I squealed suddenly, making him jump. "Wait, Love, she'll listen to you by the fire," he said, but I was already out the door. "Mam!" "Selene run!" Mam screamed as a great dark shadow leapt from the cover of a shadow and lunged for me. Black eyes were all I saw; black as the bottom of a well without whites or irises. An instant later my life was shattered like glass and I was never able to put it back together, but I didn't know that something was keeping the pieces apart on purpose.Complete
