I paused a bit from my thought process to look at Jen. She was glowing. I could tell she couldn't wait to tell Gramps the news. Her questioning arose a great philosophical debate within me. What is the differentiation between addiction and healthy addiction? Or is an addiction just an addiction? "Gambling is wrong. You know it Jen. It is wrong. There is no way an addiction could be healthy." I stated sounding judgmental. Jen smiled at me, "I know its wrong. It is still keeping him alive. " "Quit saying that!" I shouted. --- A young couple (Phil a sports journalist and Jen a psychiatrist) arrive to the typical situation at his grandfathers. Him gambling. Phil has seen his grandfather's issue as a life long problem. Interrupting every important event in his life. His wife, out of love, helps him believe in him self and that there is no such thing as 'healthy addiction'.
