What happens when you experience unrequited love with your "supposedly" best friend ? What if you discover as an adult that the person whom you considered as your best pal since childhood disconnects and ridicules you for not succumbing to his selfish interests?
Being "Friendzoned" by your close friend can be extremely painful yet a vital learning experience.
This poem is 'Nadia's'( name changed) message for her childhood best friend, 'Omar' ( name changed). It reveals her innermost joy and delightful experiences with Omar from her childhood days until 28 years of her adult life in Dubai where she gradually but painstakingly acknowledges the experience of being 'friendzoned' . Through the end of this poem, when 'Omar' begins to ridicule their friendship, she attempts to re-examine her journey and perspectives on friendship, self-respect and trust.
