Tessa and Riley had been best friends ever since Riley moved to Springdale, Arkansas from Mishawaka, Indiana the summer before freshman year. Riley's dad had gotten a job offer at Northwest Technical Institute. They did everything together that summer. They had Riley's dad help them build a treehouse in the backyard between their houses. Tessa's dad wasn't around much though he was always deployed. This time he was in Iraq, they didn't know when he would be home.
