Bhikhu

This short fiction piece is not my original story. But as an original adaptation in English, it's my tribute to prolific Gujarati short story author Gaurishankar Govardhandas Joshi who wrote under the pen name 'Dhumketu'. This was part of my second language literature high school curriculum. The general flow of the original work has not been tampered with, but creative liberties have been taken to transport its setting from an early twentieth-century town in western colonial India to a mid-nineties setting in the bustling city of Mumbai.
