Generation after generation, heroes rise up from humble beginnings to save the world, and despite the opposition of equally legendary forces, manage to thwart evil and pull out victorious. Naturally, however, poor farmhands and starving thieves are hardly capable of ass-pulling the strength to save the multiverse. Maybe once or twice, luck or circumstance would draw these disparate individuals to fight for a common, benevolent goal, but for the frequency at which saviors arrive - surely something else has to be going on? Members of the Auria - an elite team of spies and spellcasters - lay watching and listening for threats to the multiverse, and on behalf of their directive seek out souls worthy of claiming the power of legends of old. All deemed worthy are granted guidance, power, and a shard of Aura, which mold into powerful relics distinct to that person. Each time evil rose up, the Auria and their champions would strike them down. At least, that was the case. The seven Aura shards have been missing for over a hundred and fifty years. The Members of the Auria have been whittled down to three members, and the ill equipped heroes with enough determination to fight are nothing more than delays to the inevitable. Famine, disease, and war are commonplace, the dead walk the land freely, and while the resilient people of the world combat these threats, it is only a matter of time until someone, or something, gazes outward something bigger than just this world.
