Coral Walter is hired by Frank Lewis, a science professor in 2086, to be the first person to attempt to travel through time. Frank sends her back to 2010, where she meets a firefighter named Chris Mullen. It's a struggle to remember that she can't get attached to him, because she's only going to be there for 24 hours.
24 hours stretches into two days. She distances herself from Chris, sure she'll be home any minute. Two days stretch into two weeks. Will she ever get home? What will become of her and Chris? Will the choices she makes in 2010 have an effect on 2086?
