James Potter was jumping around excitedly as he waved his Hogwarts letter around. He was going to learn magic! Play Quidditch! Pull pranks! Make friends!

"Now James, I am entrusting you with this. Use it wisely."

James pulled the clock over his shoulders and disappeared. Invisible.

Sirius Black was waiting impatiently at his windowsill for his Hogwarts letter. When he finally spotted the owl, he flung open the window and snatched the letter. "Yes yes yes yes! Reggie, look!"

He was going to escape! He was going to leave his family! Leave the Blackness for a new life!

Remus Lupin was munching on toast when a pretty brown owl flew in through the open window, carrying a letter. He ignored it, assuming it was for his mum or dad. He was not ready when it dropped a letter at his plate.

"Who's that from?" Hope asked.

"Hogwarts..." he clutched the letter tightly to his chest, eyes teary. "It's from Hogwarts.."

Peter Pettigrew was not sure if he was going to get his Hogwarts letter. He barely showed any signs of magic, and when he did, it was something that could have been reasonably assumed as something fate conjured up.

But when an envelope with a bright red button on it flew down on his lap, he was sure.

He wasn't a squib. He was a wizard.

"FREAK!"

Lily frowned, color changing flowers still held out to her sister. "I made it for you," she said. "It's a lily and a petunia. It's a promise that we'll always be best friends. No matter what."

Petunia glared at her sister. This wasn't normal. She glanced up and shrieked.

Lily spun around and her eyes widened. There was an owl in broad daylight! And...was that a letter tied into its leg?

"Hogwarts?"
