When With You

As the worst thing to ever happen to the peaceful town of Jackson City, I, Mason Longwood have a very delicate reputation to uphold.

I take my job here very seriously, I need to, otherwise my family will succumb to vile attacks yet again. I've learnt to keep the line between want and need very clear. Never touching.

But there's only one person who manages to blur that line for me: Peter Jung. My one and only.

For many years, he's been the only thing keeping me together-even though he doesn't know it, even though we haven't spoken to each other in years.

I hate him. He's everything I despise in a person. And he's everything I want and more...

How do I let him back into my life after everything he's done to me? How can I move on? Am I allowed to? Will he help me?

Or can I expect to be abandoned by everyone, including the ghosts of my past?

"I want to believe you. I want to believe you so badly, but it's you, Jung. You're always hurting me, I can't-" I feel his heart stop for a second and I regret my words.

"Do you love me, Mason?" He asks, his eyes searching into mine and I fear I can't lie. "Do you?"

Glaring at him, "Does it matter?" This is all fake anyway.

"To me, it fucking does." He grits out.

I can't lie to him so I'm not going to answer. I'm not giving him that much power over me, he'll ruin me. "Let me go."

He holds my hand tighter, "Not until you answer me."
