The Only One

When seventeen year-old Serenity Stevenson heads to the auction to bring home a "champion", she ends up getting a horse who is far from one. Instead of the "champion" she had planned on picking up, Serenity brings home a sickly bay Arabian mare whom she names Spero. Serenity must work to bring Spero back before she reaches the point of no return and make her into the champion she knows she can become. However, not everyone thinks she can fix the little mare. In fact, it seems like nobody believes in her or Spero which makes Serenity constantly question herself, her horse, and her dreams. It's hard to beat the odds when you're the only who's trying to go against them.
