Evelyn is your run-of-the-mill thief in 19th century London, England. She snatches, takes, and stalks according to her own whims and desires, all whilst avoiding the Yard and other menacing forces from London's underground. And although she'd never admit such out loud, she's pretty good at what she does.
However, Evelyn never wanted to be a thief. After being cast out by her blue blood parents, she fought every day just to survive. In the attempt to regain a normal life, she returns to London to find a job working as a maid in an upper class manor, much like those of her youth.
One day, a plan to get one of these jobs goes from terrifically perfect to terrifyingly horrible as her world turns upside down and everything she once believed was a legend becomes real.
How will she survive in this new world? What new people will she encounter? What hidden secrets about herself will she learn? But most importantly, what is up with the suspiciously good-looking butler who's always saying, "Yes, my Lord"?
