With a body count of one-hundred-eleven, Gwenneth Knightwalker is the khaganate's most notorious assassin. After months spent rotting away in a cell, the khaganate gives her a choice: her freedom in exchange for her magic power.

However, things take an unexpected turn and Gwenneth finds herself joining forces with mages whose hands are drenched in the blood of others. Alec and Erzaline persuade Gwenneth to join them as they embark on a mission to repent for their unforgivable sins by eliminating darkness of the world.

Joining this guild bearing the light of tomorrow despite their dark pasts, changes her life forever in ways she would have never thought possible, from coming face to face with demons straight from hell, to despair, laughter, pain, and heartache.

Whether or not, Gwenneth's prison days are over, and a new chapter of her life has begun.

'They pulled the chair across from me out and sat in it. The tavern carried on when the figure made themselves comfortable. My grip tightened on the hilt of the dagger. They pulled the hood of their cloak off and unclasped it. Their movements were relaxed and unhurried. I ran my eyes over him. He had strange black, swirling tattoos on his neck and long, pointed ears. His clothes were plain. I crossed my arms and sat back in my seat, keeping my eyes on his piercing midnight blue ones. He cocked an eyebrow. "Well?" I narrowed my eyes. "Well, what?" "What's your business here?" "I should be asking you that, considering you silenced a room by being in it." "Fair enough." He paused as the bartender brought another tankard over. "I'm looking for a travel companion." His voice was as deep as the shadows surrounding us. "You're an elf... Don't they prefer to travel on their own?" "Fae," he corrected as he pulled a pipe out of thin air. A black wisp of smoke surrounded his hand as he did so. "But yes, we do. I, however, have had enough of my thoughts being my only company." I nodded. "So?" He raised his eyebrows. I shook my head sadly. "This is something I need to do. Alone." "Alright." He looked a bit disappointed, which was odd, considering we had just met. ' What happens when you're going to kill the Unnamed One and meet a mysterious fae on your journey? Do you trust him, or leave him? And what do you do when you find out what he's been hiding? Iowyn Aedithas is on a quest to save her guild. A quest that could potentially be lethal for her. She's an awfully brave (some would say naive) human to be doing this. Demons have been attacking her guild, and she's had enough. She meets Evaris, the mysterious fae, on her journey and he becomes her travel companion. When they reach their destination, he reveals information that's previously been held close.
