Lake Reed is a sophomore medical student with the ideal life: a devoted girlfriend, good grades, and a perfect family.
People are dying all over the news due to an unknown disease, and scientists have racked their brains in vain.
Lake keeps seeing a certain man, who is always saying "it's coming," and he is terrified. His professor assigned him an impossible project that he believes could be the answer to the recent deaths.
He is faced with a decision that will bring up his past, a past he was unaware of. His life is on the line, and his relationship with his girlfriend and family is strained, but he must do what is right, even if it means getting killed.
