Lyric (Ricki) is a 17 girl who has been in and out of the foster system for years. With her birthday approaching, she is worried about what to expect when she ages out of the system in less than a year.

Her current foster family include Migel Lundon, a former foster child, who was adopted into the Lundon family as a young teenager, and is now COO (chief operating officer) of the family owned medical supply company. Hope Lundon is a stay-at-home mom who is always on the run, between the kids extracurricular activities or the group's she helps at their Church, she is always busy. Parker Lundon is twelve going on forty, highly intelligent, and way too serious for his own good. Aiden Lundon is six and nothing but sweetness.
