In New Orleans, Alila Rose Dupré just dumped her latest boyfriend, Jeremy Jarnel. Alone and depressed, she didn't want to do anything but stay in bed until her next shift at her bar on Conti Street. Instead, she left town, going farther North than she had ever been. She ended up that first night out at a Super 8 motel outside Memphis where she met Benny who had just learned that her son had been arrested for cocaine in his dorm at the University of Maine in Orono. Benny was wreck. She had drive to Tennessee for her record distribution business, and was now anxious to get back to Maine. Alila and Benny worked out a suitable arrangement, and went their separate ways.
