Magnolia has never had the life she should've had. It wasn't written in her cards. Her dysfunctional family built on lies and appearing as perfect as they can make it seem only want to tear her down. Using Magnolia as a pawn, a pawn to make them appear better. Struggling with multiple mental illnesses, untreated, Magnolia makes the gut-wrenching decision to end it all. Unsuccessful, she then ends up in a psych ward for a year. But recovery isn't always as glorious as it sounds, sometimes, people never recover.
***TW; Talk of mental illness, suicide, and abuse is talked about in this book!! If you're triggered by any of those, this book may not be for you. I will put trigger warnings in the chapters that go into any kind of detail about any of these topics.

(Book one of the Family Tree) A girl who has to act perfect with her parents. Is bullied at school for being smart. Is wiped at home for being "stupid", "dumb", "fat" and many others. Finally, she is gives a choice to ditch that life for another one, which she does instantly. Sad enough, she just got deeper into a family problem. Dead or alive, she must figure out what is real and what is not. -------------------- Amelia, a 16 year old girl trying to fit in and figure out her ancestry, before ditching it. They got along just fine for the next two years, they somehow managed to get through the tough times together and they thought it would stay that way, the two of them against the world. Until their mother got pregnant and they had the responsibility of raising their baby sister at the age of 11. They pulled through and it was now the three of them against the world. They believe they can get through anything and they hope that's true when suddenly the brothers who disappeared years ago start to show up looking to mend their relationship with the twins who hold a deep hatred for their older brothers.
