When Dr. James Lacy rented a house in Clitheroe, England, he might have gotten more then he bargained for. A terrible thing happened and now, the tortured spirit of a young woman in white haunts the house on Scarlet Hill, the very one Dr. Lacy is staying in.
Young former inn maid Adelina Kent dreams of going to Oxford University. She knows it may seem impossible but, never stops pursuing her passion. When her desire brings her to Clitheroe, she is hired as Dr. Lacy's maid to help him with the house. The odd looks from locals, uneasy feeling, and strange happenings all point to something else at work, but who or what?
As the "happenings" become more and more sinister, the pair must try to uncover what happened and stay alive while doing so inside the house on the hill.
