Following Anne's dramatic downfall, Katherine marries Charles Brandon, and becomes Duchess of Suffolk at the age of fourteen. After the short reign of young Catherine Howard, and the death of Jane Seymour, Katherine and Brandon are chosen to welcome Anna of Cleves as she arrives in England.
When the royal marriage is annulled, Katherine's good friend, Catherine Parr becomes the king's sixth wife, and they work to promote religious reform. Katherine's young sons are tutored with the future king, Prince Edward, and become his friends, but when Edward dies his Catholic sister Mary is crowned queen. Katherine's Protestant faith puts her family in great danger - from which there seems no escape.

Upon arrival at the Medici's grand Platzo they will be introduced with the head of the family Lorenzo, his mother Lucretzia, as well as his younger siblings his brother Giuliano, sisters Bianca and Maddalena, his half uncle a priest by the name of Carlo as well as the painter Sandro Botticelli who was adopted and raised by the family many years prior. After seeing the Medici family Henry, his wife Elizabeth, his mother Margret, as well as all three of his oldest children and daughter in law have their eyes on one Medici girl in particular, Maddalena de'Medici. Maddalena is a breathe of fresh air considered the most beautiful women in the world at the time, has the Grace of a Queen and the mind that can challenge the wit and intellect of all her brothers put together and some. Whenever Lorenzo feels stuck there's one person who can figure out a way to strike them to the jugular and come out on top with the sympathy of the people.
