When 12 year old Bryn decides she had fallen head over heels for the jock in class, she can't help but obsses over him, and she tried to keep her secret from everyone. Including her best friend, Brook. David never even knew Bryn existed, that is until, he asks her to help him with a problem. Bryn is overly excited. She thinks this may be her ticket into David's heart, that is, until she finds out that the problem is, he wants to ask out her best friend. Bryn is devastated, but can't stand the thought of turning down time with him. So she hides her feelings towards David and helps him. A month or so later, Bryn moves, and she never thinks or hears from David again.
In Bryn's senior year of high school, she unexpectedly bumps into him again. This time, Bryn is a million times better. With her flawless light brown skin, and raven black curls and big brown eyes. And with her high popularity, her and David are being pushed together by their piers. David sees something different about her, and he finds himself drawn to her. However, she has little interest in him, and her current boyfriend, Sawyer, who is captain of the lacrosse team, doesn't like David at all. What happens when David's best friend, Francisco's, dad dies in a horrible car accident, and her mother, being the mayor takes in a heartbroken Trisha (Francisco's mom), Ingred (Francisco's sister), and Francisco? David definitely takes advantage of this living arrangement. What will happen? Will Bryn stay with Sawyer, or will she learn to love the overly obsessive jock?
