Madison Riley Carter has had an amazing, fun life. Friends that make her life fun, a lovely, caring mother who she'd never replace, whether her dad was in her life or not. She loves what her life is become and she can feel herself going places in her life. All of that was going wonderfully until one day, she is struck with a fatigue that never seems to go away, aching pains that get worse daily, and shortness of breath that accompanies her wherever she moves. She goes to the doctor with her mother to find out she has cancer. The cancer takes control of her life, turning it upsidown. Just as soon as things seem to turn up, everything falls down hill once again. She lives out her days trying to be happy with, the friends who stick with her throughout everything, the mom who holds it all on her shoulders, all while a boy enters the equation, which seems to be just what she needs.
Kayla's mother is diagnosed with cancer and just as things take a turn for the good side she is rushed to hospital and poor Kayla hits a completely new type of low that she struggles to get through. However she will always have best friends Decota and Lizzie by her side; along with brother Vaughn and dad Jacob. But will it be enough?
