Drex, a gun-slinging Judge who lives on the Edge of the Colonies, hunts demons, monsters, and anything else that isn't fond of their land being overrun by civilization's advancing revival. They live in the remnants of what was once humanity, but claim it as their own and it isn't up to Drex to ask questions, just shoot.
And shoot he does, from a golden revolver that he has yet to name. A gift to him that has the power to actually kill the bastards that otherwise would come back and inhabit some other poor fool.
But an assault on Degrond's Keep that isn't quite what it seems, sends him and his trusty steed on a mission for answers and to unravel the web of lies that humanity had been told for generations now.

The day after an ordeal happens which causes Dazod to have to stay in the human dimension and having to protect Esme... even if he didn't want to at first.
