Essa Lewis despises many things at the beginning of her Junior year at Lincoln High School, but one thing she despises most of all is change. Tristan Sommers is exactly what Essa hates, change and a football player. As much as Essa hates to admit it Tristan is handsome, friendly, and smart, but he goes against everything she believes in defying everything that she knows. She doesn't no what to expect when it comes to him. But eventually Essa must learn that change is the only thing she can depend on.

Prema Morrison had a rough childhood. During Elementary school, she was always called, "The Loner. Loser. Retard. Faggot. Ugly duckling." and through Middle School, people teased her about her being, not the thickest girl out there. And through High School - up until the 12th grade.- she always had daily rude comments thrown at her about her hair. But then, one day, at the end of 11th grade, she knew she had to make the best of her last year of school. And, that's exactly what she did. She knew she needed a better, different image. So, she fixed herself up. One day, a new boy named Jacob, transferred into their school. Immediately, he was picked on about his flashy, big hair. She knew the pain he was feeling. She knew that she had to help him. And, that's what she did. She meant no feelings, what so ever. But, what happens when the two become so close that, Prema's reputation goes down, and. .
