Juline is 15. She lives in one of thousands of universes scattered across the Nothing.
Her situation is getting desperate. Since the Fire, when her father died and she lost part of the vision in one eye, money has been hard to come by.
Her mother works as a seamstress, which only brings enough money to pay for the land that their tiny house sits on. Food is a once a day occurrence consisting of whatever vegetables Juline can dig out of the frozen ground. Or, if she can't, there is no food.
On the other side of the Mirror, in a world split into 4, Necros sits on a throne of fire, guarding his people, the Fervis, against the other three clans: the cold Hayle, the peaceful Gritt of the Earth and the free Zephys of the sky. For centuries these four clans have lived in peace and harmony, but now a prophecy has been told to the King of Flame that a mortal will be his end, rallying the other clans against him, and the only way to save his people would be through her death or if he would share his power.
That day, Necros vowed to destroy all mortals. He broke the mirror and came through with all his armies behind him. The peace was broken and the land itself was scorched. In defence, an endless winter emerged, driving back the armies of Necros, but endangering the lives of mortals too.
Little did Necros know how close he came to achieving his goal that night.
Can Juline save her family and break the winter? Or will mortals and elementals alike be frozen by the Winter?
