Rey never knew her parents. She grew up in the Nima orphanage with her best friends, Finn and Rose.

Rey had always loved to read, books were her escape. In books girls like her, orphans from nowhere always had amazing adventures, and discovered that their parents were really heroes or royalty. She loved all books, but her favorite was a new series that came out: The Starlight Chronicles. It was a science fiction - fantasy series that told of adventures in a far away galaxy.

Rey quickly became the self proclaimed number one fan of the series, she wrote fan fictions on wattpad, made fan art, she had even written letters to the author. They became pen pales, best friends and she wants to meet him more than anything.

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly. "How so?" he asked, glancing at her. "I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare." He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that." OR Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
